It's so damn pointless to make native PS5 versions of these games, when a PS4 version would work on both. Same goes for all these pixel games. And I bet they will loose out on a lot of sales, by doing this, as there are far less PS5 consoles out there.
I have this collection on Steam, and the ports (after updates) are excellent. Love that you can reduce the hitbox, like modern Shmups. And for the games that uses checkpoints, you can add 3 hitpoints, to make them less frustrating. And the scanline mode, looks exactly like a CRT.
Love the look of those 70:s arcade cabinets. One of the arcades, I used to go to, back in the early-mid 80:s, still had a section of those old B&W classics. I really miss that, as most old-school arcades today, usually don't have any 70:s games, except for maybe Space Invaders.
Looks great! Can't wait to see the full coverart, on the Mega Drive version. Though I'll wait and see if the game gets a Japanese cart release instead.
Hope we don't have to wait much longer for the release date.
Should have made the backgrounds darker, so it would be easier to see the bullets, and obstacles. Overall not a fan of the over the top color choices. But other than that, it's an okey shmup.
@Protion9 Would be cool, but doubt it will happen. This was designed ground up for the Mega Drive hardware, and may be too much for the SNES cpu to handle. Needs that "blast processing" π
Usually, at least here in EU, we often get regular standard editions, of games that LRG sells, in the US. So I never felt the need to buy a LGR edition, in years. And also Play-Asia is great as well, when it comes to physical games, not available in the west. And I rather spend my money there, than on LGR and similar scummy companies.
Was looking at prices, but it's overpriced (especially with the added shipping cost and import tax), and from what I read, the build quality is pretty bad. The screen is extremely fragile, as even a short drop (like from a table) can break the glass. And also the crank wears out faster than expected.
@EGVroom Ah okey. I understand. I'll just blast the Super Hang-on soundtrack on my stereo, while playing ππ This is really impressive. Great job!
Wonder how much of the game was completed, before it was cancelled. Hope the demo that was shown, will be found, ripped and uploaded in the future. But after 30 years, I guess that too much to hope for now.
I owned a VB, about 15 years ago, and the 3D looked great. Wario Land and Vertical Force was fun. I wish they had kept VB in the oven for another year or two (instead of rushing it out to market), and released it with full color displays, and straps, so you could use it without that stand. Maybe it would have done better?

@unzdotcom
Yeah, that would be cool.
And since this isn't Nintendo games, he doesn't need to worry about being shutdown.
Re: Chronicles Of The Wolf Delivers Castlevania Vibes This June, Complete With The Voice Of Alucard
Tried the demo, but I'm not impressed.
Way to stiff and janky, compared to other modern Castlevania-likes.
It needs more time in the oven.

No great loss though.
Sadly the Bomberman games, haven't been good, in decades...

Yeah, I just want the rom, to use on that cart.
Don't wanna risk putting a Limited Run cart, in my MD. π±π₯π

No catchy in game music?
Or is it just the video that lacks that?

Re: Cult Shmup Air Gallet's Remake Hits Arcades This Month
Finally a "new" shmup, without annoying lolis, piercing my eardrums, with their dialogue and screams.
Though I personally prefer no dialogue and story at all in shmups. "Get Ready" and "Power Up" is all I need from an announcer π
